What to expect from your first treatment

Your chiropractor will carry out a full examination as well as take a full medical history regarding your general health background as well as details of your symptoms. After a full assessment of your particular problem and advising an appropriate treatment plan for you they will make the necessary adjustments to improve musculoskeletal alignment and nerve function.

If the chiropractor suspects or discovers a problem that requires further medical investigation they will refer you to your GP. Wherever possible your McTimoney chiropractor will work in cooperation with your GP and other health professionals.

Your chiropractor may also recommend ice, heat or massage treatment amongst other things as well as offering individual advice about lifestyle, work and exercise in order to help, manage or prevent recurrence of the problem.

What should I wear?

In order to be assessed and treated by your chiropractor it is preferable to undress to underwear. You will be offered a modesty gown or alternatively you may prefer to wear shorts, tracksuit trousers or loose fitting clothing.
